Florent, the movie

The documentary on shuttered Meatpacking restaurant and legend Florent, is now playing at Cinema Village on 12th Street. The movie features interviews with celebrities and regulars of the restaurant, which was open on Gansevoort Street for over 20 years. The Whitney Community Day

In celebration of the groundbreaking for the Whitney's new Meatpacking District location, the Museum will host a Community Day featuring artist-led programs, workshops, and performances for all ages. Programs will be taking place at various venues throughout the neighborhood, are free, and open to the public.
Check out the future site of the Whitney's new building downtown and get information on Community Day activities. Meet the team behind the new building, see renderings of the Renzo Piano-designed building, enjoy free giveaways, snacks, activities for kids, and more. Families, be sure to pick up a free limited-edition guide to explore the Whitney's new neighborhood through the eyes of artist Lize Mogel. Recommended for kids ages 6 to 12, while supplies last. Open to all; no RSVP required.

Whitney Downtown Updates

The Whitney Museum recently previewed their new downtown museum to community members, unveiling new designs and renderings. Check out the coverage from Curbed including renderings and lots of new details about the museum. The Whitney Downtown will hold its official groundbreaking on May 24th, 2011 at its site behind the High Line entrance on Gansevoort Street.

This City Will Eat Me Alive
