The documentary on shuttered Meatpacking restaurant and legend Florent, is now playing at Cinema Village on 12th Street. The movie features interviews with celebrities and regulars of the restaurant, which was open on Gansevoort Street for over 20 years. In celebration of the groundbreaking for the Whitney's new Meatpacking District location, the Museum will host a Community Day featuring artist-led programs, workshops, and performances for all ages. Programs will be taking place at various venues throughout the neighborhood, are free, and open to the public.

The Whitney Museum recently previewed their new downtown museum to community members, unveiling new designs and renderings. Check out the coverage from Curbed including renderings and lots of new details about the museum. The Whitney Downtown will hold its official groundbreaking on May 24th, 2011 at its site behind the High Line entrance on Gansevoort Street.
Check out artist Kid Zoom's temporary gallery "This City Will Eat Me Alive", at 72 Gansevoort Street in the Meatpacking District. Featuring paintings and a huge graffiti'd bear, the exhibit is open until December 30th. Check out pictures here.
