In anticipation of Double Seven returning to the Meatpacking District soon, David Rabin updates Guest of a Guest on his project. Double Seven is set to re-open at 63 Gansevoort Street later this year and will be a great addition to NYC nightlife. Read the interview here.

Rassi on Mac & Milk

From The Standard Culture website, check out this interview with Rassi as Fashion Week has come to a close. Mazdack Rassi, the founder of Milk Studios, started MAC & Milk four seasons ago as an alternative Fashion Week platform from Lincoln Center. Now, the continuously growing initiative has expanded into The Standard, New York to host shows and has started a website to document and live stream everything MAC & Milk related.

Charles Nolan

Charles Nolan, fashion designer and political activist, passed away Sunday January 30th, 2011.
The Meatpacking District sends condolences to his family and friends. Charles Nolan was a well respected designer, who helped turn around Ellen Tracy in the 90's and Anne Klein beginning in 2001. He began his own line and opened his store at 30 Gansevoort Street in 2004. Go to the NY Times here for a more full account of his life. -
Meatpacking Businesses Still Strong

Today, the NY Daily News reports on the meatpacking businesses that continue to successfully operate in the Meatpacking District. The nine meatpacking businesses left are mostly located in a city owned group of buildings called the Gansevoort Market Meat Center and are staying put. Ice Skating Lessons in the MPD

The Standard, New York is now offering ice skating lessons every Saturday, at the ice rink located in front of their hotel. Beginning at 9am, lessons are offered for adults and children, with a variety of ice skates available. Click here for more info.
