Intermix Coming to the MPD

Intermix has put up preview window coverings at a storefront they just leased at the corner of Gansevoort and Washington Street. The 2,000 square foot store will open up across the street from the High Line entrance and will be joined by additional adjacent stores in the next couple of years. Intermix Meatpacking District is set to open in August 2011.

Honor

Look out for Honor, the women's fashion label designed by Giovanni Randall, opening on February 22nd at 68 Gansevoort Street. The collection will be showed off in a store featuring vintage decor and a small cafe, located where Karkula once was. More info from NY Times.

Charles Nolan

Charles Nolan, fashion designer and political activist, passed away Sunday January 30th, 2011.
The Meatpacking District sends condolences to his family and friends. Charles Nolan was a well respected designer, who helped turn around Ellen Tracy in the 90's and Anne Klein beginning in 2001. He began his own line and opened his store at 30 Gansevoort Street in 2004. Go to the NY Times here for a more full account of his life. -
Bond No.9

NYC perfume company Bond No.9, which originated on Bond Street will be opening up a location in the Meatpacking District at 863 Washington Street, between 13th and 14th Streets. Bond No.9 currently sells a "High Line" fragrance, inspired by the different seasonal flowers and plantings on the High Line Park and they have a nearby location on Bleecker Street, next to Magnolia Bakery.
