FULL OF PRIDE
Pride celebrations in the Meatpacking District showcase a harmonious blend of art, fashion, food, and celebration. The district buzzes with captivating exhibitions, stylish designs, and enticing cocktail specials. In the spirit of inclusivity, numerous promotions this month will support LGBTQ+ charities, fostering a sense of community while embracing the power of pride and giving back. See below for District-wide Pride 2023 happenings:
The Meatpacking Business District and activist Tim Hayes present "A District Defined: Streets, Sex, and Survival," a photography exhibition showcasing unseen works by eight artists. Opening on June 23 at 401 West 14th Street, the exhibition explores the vibrant queer nightlife of the late 80s and 90s in the Meatpacking District. Some works will be available for sale, with proceeds supporting the American LGBTQ+ Museum, dedicated to preserving and sharing the diverse lives and stories of the LGBTQ+ community.
The Whitney Museum is offering a full line-up of Pride events. Join in on the fun at their Whitney Pride Celebration Featuring Chitra Ganesh’s Queer Power Coloring Book and Bob’s Dance Shop on June 10.
Reserve a table at Ayada Drag Brunch, happening at 1 PM and 2 PM every Saturday in June, featuring captivating performances by Queens Cherry Poppins and FiFi DuBois. Enjoy delicious food, bottomless mimosas, and “Gender Neutral” from Threes Brewing, with beer proceeds going to support the LGBTQ+ community.
In the mood for a little retail therapy? Shop the Krewe Pride Collection and select from stunning new summer styles with a portion of your sale benefiting the Trans Latin Coalition.
Feel extra thirsty? Try the ‘Say Gay’ cocktail at The Standard, featuring citrus infused vodka, dill, tangerine, and a squeeze of lemon. A portion of the proceeds of this cocktail will go directly to GLAAD and their efforts towards pursuing LGBTQ+ rights.
Also at The Standard, check out Pride Family Skate Day on June 17. The Standard and Primary, the inclusive children's clothing brand, are partnering up for an extraordinary Pride skate session that will thrill the whole family! Happening from 10am-1pm.
Support LGBTQ+ founded brands at Neighborhood Goods, and shop designers like The New Savant, East Fork, Lunya, Miramara New York, and BruceGlen.
Strolling about and exploring the District? Stop by at Tea + Milk in Pearl River Mart Foods for a Rainbow Strawberry Taro. One dollar from each cup sold this June will go to charities like The Trevor Project and NQAPIA.
