11:00 AM–3:00 PM — Greenwich House Pottery
Clay Comes to the Cobblestones
A free, interactive ceramic experience hosted by Greenwich House Pottery at the Meatpacking District's Open Streets. Visitors of all ages can enjoy live wheel-throwing demonstrations, create clay sculptures inspired by New York City landmarks, and make milkweed seed bombs to help restore monarch butterfly habitats. These activities are led by professional teaching artists. Feel free to drop in, get your hands dirty, and take home a piece of the city!

1:00 PM–4:00 PM — The Horticultural Society of New York
Scents of Spring
Scents of Spring invites participants to explore the connection between scent and memory through plant-based aromatherapy sprays. After sampling seasonal scents like lavender, rosemary, and floral blends, participants share a short spring memory and contribute to a community memory board, creating a shared visual installation.

3:00 PM–6:00 PM — PiaoCapoeira
Capoeira
Choreographed and led by globally renowned capoeirista, choreographer, and artist Contramestre Pião, he and his collective of Capoeira community leaders, masters, practitioners, and performers will curate a three-part participatory Capoeira event in the Meatpacking BID:

  • A high-energy Capoeira circle (roda) with experienced capoeiristas from around New York City performing and showing the art form in practice.
  • A highly participatory community Capoeira ‘class’ for anyone who wants to join in movement, music, or collective energy.
  • An ensemble playing Capoeira instruments and rhythms to culminate the afternoon with interactive musicality–easy for playing Capoeira, dancing, or just enjoying while outside.
