THE GANSEVOORT ST. MURAL

BY Meatpacking BIDPUBLISHED 08.31.2022

On a brick wall at the edge of Gansevoort Street just off Hudson is a mural inspired by the L.E.A.F Festival of Flowers.

Entitled Flourish, the piece was designed and painted freehand in two days(!) by Philadelphia based-artist Lawren Alice (@lawrenalice). The mural is a first for this location and a first for Alice in New York City. Lawren’s whimsical style layers multiple colors into an interconnected floral-like universe, with green drips that evoke vines or rain. There are elements of art nouveau, architecture, and even paisley throughout the work.

Special thanks to the Gansevoort Hotel for their support on this exciting project.
