JOVEL ROYSTAN’S HOLIDAY GIFT GUIDE

BY Meatpacking BIDPUBLISHED 12.10.2021

This year, we tapped Jovel Roystan to create a holiday gift guide for you. As someone who’s been a Meatpacking ambassador for the past five years, you know it’s going to be good!

Theory’s Puffer Jacket in Water-Resistant Nylon
I love a good puffer jacket. It’s a winter essential, especially in a place like NYC, and while this time of year is usually when most people turn down their color palettes, you can still have some fun with fresh and unique tones. The Kilim and Tapir colorways that this jacket comes in are great, no matter how bold (or subtle) you like to make your style statements. And the best part, Theory has a bunch of complementary tops and bottoms that you can also add to the bag to create one cohesive look. I got the jacket in Tapir, along with a matching zip-neck sweater and trousers.

The Perfect Coffee Table Book from The Whitney Museum of American Art
Every home needs a little bit of art, whether it’s hanging on the wall or front and center on your coffee table. If your special someone’s already got the walls covered, go for the latter. The Whitney’s gift shop starts to feel like a library when you start searching through the columns of books for sale. Between the pages of fun illustrations to the retrospectives of some of America’s most iconic artists (I almost got the Jeff Koons book from his exhibit a few years ago), there’s sure to be something that they’ll fall in love with. I included a few of my recommendations below.

AllSaints’s Fragrance Collection
If you know me personally or follow me on Instagram, you know that I’m a fragrance fanatic, and as I was browsing through the racks at Allsaints, I was pleasantly surprised to find that they have their own line of scents. I quickly started spraying the little sample cards, one after another, until I’d gone through each of them, and I couldn’t help but fall in love. They’re all very different, with each one having its own unique identity, so no matter what scent profiles you (or your giftee) are usually into, I think you’ll be impressed. When it comes to gifting fragrances, I always like options—you never know what someone will or won’t love. They have a travel spray set that’ll let you try out three of the six scents, but if you want to know my favorite, it’s Metal Wave, which is available as both a fragrance and a candle.

The Perfect Skincare Collection from Kiehl’s
Kiehl’s Ultimate Age Fighters Men’s Gift Set + Rare Earth Deep Pore Daily Cleanser
I got a facial earlier this week, and my (amazing) esthetician lectured me on the importance of having a regular skincare routine. Personally, I’ve always kept my regimen pretty simple—a good face wash, an eye treatment, and a strong moisturizer—but she talked to me about also exfoliating once a week, so I stopped at Kiehl’s to update my arsenal. I’ve been using the brand for years and I love their Age Defender line. This gift set gives your guy an easy routine to follow for solid skincare, and I think I’m going to try out the Rare Earth Deep Pore Daily Cleanser, which serves as a gentle exfoliant. Together, he’ll be good to go in the winter months ahead.

Diptyque’s Limited-Edition Carousel Set with 2 x 70g Candles
I was talking to my best friend a few days ago about candles, and we decided that there are two types of people: those who will spend more than $10 on a wick and some wax and those who won’t. I happen to be in the “will” category. A luxury candle may feel like a lot to spend on, but when used properly and placed in the right place, it can completely transform your home. The team at Diptyque walked me through some of their latest offerings and I loved this carousel set. It becomes more than just a candle, it’s a piece of decor. You get two amazing scents, and as the heat rises, the carousel attachment not only moves but creates an exciting light show of sorts around the room. Trust me, it’s far from your average candle.
