DISTRICT PROFILE: CAROLINE GOGOLAK OF SAINT ART
Tell us about Saint Art
Saint Art is New York street style for everyone. This new form of American sportswear is easy, effortless, and luxe by addressing the cadence of our everyday. The collection reads as a juxtaposition – masculine and feminine, romantic and sporty, high trend, and evolved basics. Saint Art encompasses the key styles that represent the women of today’s modern era.
Saint Art responds to trends and customer feedback to produce an in-season design with the goal of combatting waste. The brand operates within a 30-day design to manufacture window to deliver bi-weekly drops, introducing a new and sustainable approach to fast fashion. Each Saint Art piece is produced in very limited quantities. Maximum expression. Minimal impact
Why did you decide to forgo the traditional fashion model and design and produce the way you do?
By focusing on the supply chain, our goal is to ignite change across the industry to address sustainability head-on.
What’s your favorite piece from the current drop?
I personally love all of our taffeta pieces. They are such an easy throw-on piece for summer.
Why Meatpacking?
The Meatpacking District was one of the first neighborhoods I lived in when I moved to NYC post-college. It has such vibrancy and history. I love how it is also very much embedded in the fashion industry with some iconic boutiques and showrooms that have been a part of the heart of the neighborhood over the last 20-plus years.
When you have a free 15 minutes, how do you spend it in the neighborhood?
I love taking my kids on the High Line. The landscape is so family friendly, you will find us here often.
