10 Things to Do with an Extra Hour of Sunlight

BY Meatpacking BIDPUBLISHED 03.11.2023

As the days start to get longer and warmer, it's the perfect time to explore all that the Meatpacking District has to offer. With an extra hour of sunlight, there's no shortage of art to explore, food + drink to enjoy, and nature to behold. Here are ten ways to make the most of your time:

  • Take a walk on the High Line: One of the most popular attractions in the Meatpacking District, the High Line is a unique public park built on an old elevated railroad track. Take a stroll and enjoy the views of the city skyline and the Hudson River.

  • Eat outside at Serafina: With outdoor seating and delicious Italian cuisine, Serafina is the perfect place to enjoy a leisurely meal while soaking up the sunshine.

  • Visit the “Celebrating Art by Women: If Not Now, Then When?” at Triangle Loft, and support the local art scene.

  • Treasure hunt for one-of-a-kind goods at Artists and Fleas: an indoor market home to dozens of vendors selling everything from handmade jewelry to vintage clothing. Spend some time browsing and discover unique finds.

  • Stop in for the new spring sunglass collection at Warby Parker on Washington Street. With their home try-on program, you can even take a few pairs home to see which ones you like best.

  • Workout with Liftonic: Get your sweat on at Liftonic, a boutique fitness studio offering high-intensity, low-impact workouts that focus on strength training.

  • Adventure into “Refigured” at the Whitney Museum for free in the Lobby Gallery. Explore video, animation, sculpture, and augmented reality in this exhibit exploring the interactions between digital and physical materiality.

  • Treat yourself to a personalized facial at Caudalie. Select from their Radiance, Anti-Aging, and Detox options, or create the perfect bespoke treatment to refresh your mind and body for the season.

  • Add a pop of color to your home with a bouquet of fresh flowers from Damselfly. This charming flower shop also sells candles, home decor, and specialty gifts.

  • Dip in for a delicious matcha latte from Maman, a quaint cafe serving up French-inspired pastries and coffee. Sip your latte outside and watch the world go by.

With so many things to do and see, an extra hour of sunlight in the Meatpacking District is the perfect opportunity to explore and discover new places.
