WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THE FESTIVAL OF FLOWERS

BY Meatpacking BIDPUBLISHED 06.06.2022

Come kick off summer in the Meatpacking District at the second annual L.E.A.F Festival of Flowers! The festival is a pedestrian paradise and will surprise and delight the senses. There are a few things you should know to ensure you have a top-notch experience.

When is the L.E.A.F Festival of Flowers?
Friday, June 10 from 11 AM – 6 PM
Saturday, June 11 from 11 AM – 6 PM
Sunday, June 12 from 11 AM – 5 PM

Where is the L.E.A.F Festival of Flowers?
The Meatpacking District. The festival will encompass nearly all of the district, roughly bounded by West 15th Street to Gansevoort Street and from Hudson Street to Tenth Avenue.

What can I expect to see?
Flowers (a lot of them)! Brand activations, classes, and a whole lot more. Over 100 florists are bringing to life large-scale installations throughout the district. There will also be a European Style Flower Market on Washington Street where you can purchase curated florals by florists from around the city. Activations are spread across plazas and open streets with things happening at retail and restaurants throughout the district, Pride programming at the Whitney Museum, and numerous floral displays at Chelsea Market.

How do I get there?
The District will be fully pedestrianized to facilitate the festival. The Meatpacking District is surprisingly accessible:

  • Walk – we’re nestled between Chelsea and Greenwich Village!
  • Ride a bike (Hudson River Greenway, Eighth Ave bike lane)
  • Public transportation
  • A/C/E or L to 14th Street/Eighth Ave
  • M11, M12, or M14 Bus to 14th Street + Ninth Ave
  • Hail or book a yellow cab (and check us out on Taxi TV!)
  • Book an Uber or Lyft (we have dedicated pick-up + drop-off spots around the district)

If you are driving, you can park in the following garages:

  • 222 West 14th Street
  • 111 8th Avenue
  • 623 Hudson Street
  • 400 West 12th Street
  • 99 Jane Street
  • 450 West 17th Street

Will there be food?
The Meatpacking District is home to a number of the city’s best restaurants and Chelsea Market, but it’s going to be a busy weekend! Reservations are strongly encouraged.

Feel free to bring your own picnic or snacks to enjoy outside on one of the many tables and chairs that will be setup all around the district.
