Spring Is Here—and So Is the District Tea

Red umbrellas, floral finds, and a fashion show on the cobblestones—spring in Meatpacking is officially in bloom.

Spring is officially showing off in Meatpacking. The daffodils are blooming, the red umbrellas are back, and the latest issue of District Tea is packed with what’s fresh, inspiring, and worth discovering in the neighborhood.

From a major new public space transformation to a gallery celebrating four decades in the District, this season is all about renewal—and reinvention. The Whitney’s American Sublime exhibit brings Amy Sherald’s powerful portraits (including her now-iconic painting of Michelle Obama) to Gansevoort Street, while Leica marks its centennial with a celebration in the plaza. And coming soon: the West 14th Street Promenade, a groundbreaking BID-funded project that adds five new public decks for lounging, gathering, and enjoying the District’s signature cobblestone-meets-modern charm.

Fashion-forward? Always. This issue also highlights the return of the HSFI student fashion show in Gansevoort Plaza, a Q&A with longtime local icon Ivy Brown, and denim looks to take you from the High Line to happy hour. Don’t miss the spring picks from LILYSILK, Zimmermann, Soapology, and more.

Also inside:

– Fresh florals (and floral-inspired pieces) that go beyond the expected

– A roundup of plants with personality from Old Yew

– A special feature on Pearl River Mart’s AANHPI Heritage Month programming

– A chef-approved gnocchi recipe from Barbuto

– The playlist you didn’t know your spring needed

Wherever you’re headed this season—from Chelsea Market bites to West Side strolls—take a copy of the District Tea with you. The best things in the District have always started with a walk.
