VOTED MOST POPULAR IN 2021: THE ESPRESSO MARTINI

BY Meatpacking BIDPUBLISHED 07.15.2021

The Espresso martini has made a comeback on the drink scene and for good reason. With social schedules filling up again, a nice pick-me-up is much needed after a year of staying mostly at home. If you’re on the hunt for this caffeine infused beverage in Meatpacking, check out the three spots below to get your fix of 2021’s biggest TikTok drink trend.

Kobrick
Kobrick’s Tiger Stripe Espresso Martini is made with vodka, house coffee liqueur, amaretto, espresso, and vanilla. Being that this neighborhood cafe brings some of the city’s best coffee, you know it’s going to be good.

The environment: Kobrick’s outdoor seating is an oasis on bustling Ninth Avenue. If the summer heat is too much, opt to sit inside at the bar where you’ll get 1920’s speakeasy vibes.

What to pair it with: A Kobrick charcuterie board or go all in on caffeine with a scoop of tiger stripe espresso gelato on the side.

Pro tip: Espresso martinis are not the only coffee focused cocktail on the menu. Kobrick has five other coffee cocktails for those wanting something different than the cocktail of the moment. One of our favorites is the Kyoto Negroni which is infused for 8-12 hours.

Coffee + Cocktails at The Gansevoort
According to Taylor, a server at Coffee + Cocktails, “One person orders an Espresso Martini and then everyone around starts ordering”. Sounds about right. At Coffee + Cocktails, the Espresso Martini is made with Belvedere, Kahlúa, and Bon Coffee.

The environment: Brand new, Coffee + Cocktails opened last month at the Gansevoort Hotel. Cute cafe chairs line the sidewalk for an upscale and pleasant experience.

Pair it with: A croissant or one of the Gansevoort’s best selling bites of meatballs or chicken salad.

Pro Tip: Must love foam when ordering this Espresso Martini. If you’d like to try something else coffee forward, order the C + C Martini made with bourbon, white chocolate syrup, coffee liqueur, fresh coffee, garnished with chocolate coffee beans, and lemon oils.

Starbucks Roastery Reserve
Why have one espresso martini when you can have a whole flight? Starbucks Roastery Reserve’s Espresso Martini Flight is made with Starbucks Reserve Espresso, and comes with three flavors, including Orange Cacao, Mole Spice, and Cherry Limone. Watch our reel on the flight here

The environment: There is no better place to be for a coffee lover. Starbucks Roastery Reserve is obsessed in the details with all of their coffee concoctions. The outdoor patio has ample space for groups with lots of greenery on a busy corner in Meatpacking. Perfect for sipping and people watching.

Pair it with: A curated selection of chocolate truffles to enhance any experience of the Roastery’s coffee beverages.

Pro Tip: If you are truly coffee obsessed, book a Roastery Tour to get the full experience of the Reserve and learn in-depth knowledge of how Starbucks sources their coffee.
